I can't figure this messaging system out. Not sure you received an earlier update. The pup is doing much better, over her shyness and a not afraid of persons and dogs. I visited the other day with my Mal and the pup got nipped by Misty. She shook it off and came back for more. Officer Nice said she did very well at the practice field and the other K9 officers are pleased with her.
New photos of Linus the GSD on my page. He's getting to be a big boy. Have a nice weekend. Brenda

Hi Amber,
Haven't been on here in a while. Don't know if you're interested but just found some DS pups that you may be interested in. Maybe an older dog there too, don't know. Do a search for CherCar Kennels in Lansing Mi. and look there. Cherl has years of experience. Good Luck.
P.S. Not into the sporting dog world although Ringsport looks like a ton of fun. Misty is retired guard dog. You would not want to meet her in a dark alley! Her commands are in Dutch. She is wonderful in bite work. She has a full bite without mouthing and also will come off the bite immediately upon command. [But not before, ha, ha] All her commands are off lead and she is great with kids. Not so great with other dogs and I have to be careful about that. I have worked with GSD watch dogs for around twenty years. In my mind there is nothing smarter than a GSD. Now a Mal has more spirit and intensity. Love them both.
Amber, thanks for getting back to me so soon. Yes, 12m-18m will give a better picture of a working dog and you also have the first hip & elbow X-rays available to check for possible dysplasia problems. You can go to Torsten Reinharts page on the Ray Allen Blog site and see my GSD with Torsten in a training session. "linus at 7 months". Torsten is a master K9 trainer I am working with who is certified for bomb detection, narcotic detection and security dog training. He has extensive experience with working dogs and was a civilian contracted out to the U.S. Army in Germany for the military working dog program there. He can do just about anything with a working dog!
He has many contacts in Germany and Europe with working dog kennels. He may be able to give you some contact information for good working Dutch Shepherd lines. Good Luck. Brenda
Hi Amber:
Beautiful Mal you've got there. Where did you get it if I may ask? Love the flying decoy pic! My Mal is an 8 year old level II protection dog trained by the police out of North Carolina. She's a sweetie and has a full hard bite. As a K-9 friend of mine says: Mals love to bite better than anything in the world! Misty does!
Torsten said you are looking for a GSD. I have a male, 7 month old GSD in Germany of working lines. He is big boned, socialized and obedience trained. Lots of play drive. I don't know what you are looking for. If interested you can email me at brenda7@q.com. have a good day.
Hi Again Amber,
Just an FYI, Hans is kind of a to the point person. No nonsense. He has a problem with females. Don't know why, but plan your questions, be knowlegable, and to the point. He knows his dogs, the bloodlines, and their working abilities. He and Jiri have been involved with the Border Patrol lines for years. Jiri is the Breed Warden over there and was also in charge of the B. P. breeding program for years.
Hi Amber,
Welcome to the group. Nice looking Mal you have there. Good deep bite too!
Check with Hans at Alpine K9 for a good Old World Working line DS. Check out Jinopo.cz also. If you find something there get back to Hans. He's the U.S. contact. They don't speak English over there. Good Luck!
